Day Two: Meet me in Saint Louis

This morning seemed a little brighter after getting a good nights sleep and a delightful continental breakfast!  After we loaded the bus, and met our seat mates we hit the road and headed to Saint Louis, Missouri.

Today's drive was not quite as scenic as the trip through the mountains of West Virginia, until, we drove into Saint Louis and took in the view of the Gateway Arch.  There are no words for how beautiful this structure is, it is hard not to appreciate its wonder.

After checking into our downtown hotel, we headed straight for the arch.  First, we enjoyed a movie about Louis and Clark and the westward expansion.  The Louis and Clark expedition starting in Saint Louis, laid the foundation for the settlement of the west.  After the movie, we were able to take the trams to the top of the arch!  How awesome!  Everyone loved being at the top and feeling on top of the world.  The view from the windows was absolutely breathtaking.  You could see all of Saint Louis, and a great deal of the mgihty Mississippi.

For dinner, our plan was take a relaxing dinner boat cruise down the Mississippi!  Unfortunately, the weather and the water had other plans in mind.  Due to the high amounts of rain, the river wasn't safe for us.  Thankfully, we were prepared with an excellent back up plan and it turned into a wonderful night!  After a brief swim, the hotel gave us full access to their concierge lounge and the party began!  Pizza, sodas, and plenty of time to socialize!  Isn't is great when things work out so well, I think many new friendships were made at out little pizza party!  Finishing up the night we all said our goodbyes with the excitement of the day to come!
