Day 4: Colorado Springs, Colorado

Today we were awake and on the road even before most of our friends on the East Coast.  It was an early morning in deed but everyone was excited to finally be getting into COLORADO.  This is perhaps one of the most beautiful and exciting rides of the trip.  We went from the wheat fields of Kansas, to the rocky mountains.  One minute it's flat and you can see for miles and the next minute there is an enormous wall of mountains, simply breath taking.

Our first stop in Colorado Springs was the Air Force Academy.  While on campus we visited the ornate chapel and listened to a guide teach us about it.  The stained glass windows, and the organ were simply unbelievable.  After we walked back from the chapel, the group headed into the bookstore to gear up with Air Force attire!  They have some cool stuff.

After checking into the hotel and having some time to clean up, we loaded back up and went to one of our more unique group meals.  We actually went to a really neat German restaurant.  No one really knew what to expect, but it was really quite good!  It was also a great open space for everyone to laugh, and enjoy each others company.
