Day 24: San Diego Zoo to La Jolla

It's hard to beat a few days in sunny LA and Disney Land, but I think we came close.  Today, we loaded after eating breakfast one last time in Anaheim and headed to the sunny Southern California city of San Diego.  Our first stop in San Diego was the San Diego Zoo.  Plenty of free time was given for groups to explore the zoo and find all of their favorite animals.  Wait until you see all the fun pictures that were taken around the zoo.  Much like Disney Land, I had to borrow some pictures from others in order to share with you.  Everyone struck out in different directions.

After leaving the zoo we had a group lunch at an authentic Mexican Restaurant in historic Old Town. It was a neat treat to stop and eat together in one of the oldest settlements in the San Diego Area!

We then went to see the USS Midway which is a retired battleship docked in the San Diego Harbor.  We had  a tour of the ship and got a great idea of how the navy lives when they are on a big ship like this one.  It is close quarters to say the least!  There were also flight simulators for everyone to ride, I don't think we have any future pilots in the crowd.

Finally, after an eventful day, we checked in to our hotel by the sea in La Jolla and all walked down to the water for a group picture.  After our group picture, everyone had free time to explore La Jolla and find a dinner of their choice!
